Happy New School Year! I am excited to welcome you and your student to Port Susan this school year. Although this is my first year as principal, I have served as Port Susan’s assistant principal for the past 17 years, and have greatly enjoyed being at PSMS.
At Port Susan our staff is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment that focuses on increased student achievement and building positive relationships. In order to promote student success, our advisory classes we are focusing on our Knights character traits. These traits include: kindness, noble, integrity, grit, hardworking, trustworthy, and success.
Port Susan provides many opportunities for students to be involved in athletics, activities and clubs. We encourage all of our students to find interests that they can pursue inside and outside the school day. These activities teach lifelong lessons outside of the classroom. We believe middle school is the time to try out new activities, as students are trying to figure out their strengths and passions.
Research shows that attendance at school is extremely important for success in school. When students are not in class they are missing out on critical information whether absences are excused or not. We really want to encourage students to be on time and attend everyday.
Our PTO is an amazing group that is working hard to provide financial, academic, social, and recreational support to our school. Please contact Lynn Bellas to be a part of this fabulous group and help support PSMS.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any suggestions or concerns. We are going to have a wonderful year!
Keri Von Moos, Principal
